Wednesday 07/16/14
Winds may be light enough and incoming background level high enough for ozone to reach "Moderate" or possibly higher levels on the north and northwest side of the Houston area and "Moderate" levels on the west and northwest side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and in the Tyler-Longview and Beaumont-Port Arthur areas, with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening. Another African dust cloud may move into South Texas today and could raise the daily PM2.5 AQI into the lower end of the "Moderate" range in the Brownsville-McAllen area. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.

Thursday 07/17/14
Light amounts of African dust could raise the daily PM2.5 AQI into the lower end of the "Moderate" range over parts of South, Southeast, and Central Texas. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.

Friday 07/18/14 Outlook
Decreasing levels of African dust may still linger over parts of South, Southeast, and Central Texas, but daily PM2.5 AQI levels are expected to remain at the upper end of the "Good" range over most of this area, with isolated low-end "Moderate" levels possible in spots. Moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range statewide.

Saturday 07/19/14 Outlook
Moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range statewide.
