An Aging Nation, Live on C-SPAN's "America by the Numbers" Segment of "Washington Journal"

The nation's 65-and-older population is projected to reach 83.7 million in the year 2050, almost double in size from the 2012 level of 43.1 million. Find out more on Friday, Aug. 15, at approximately 8:20 a.m. EST as Jennifer Ortman, chief of the Population Projections Branch at the U.S. Census Bureau, discusses statistics about the aging population. Each Friday, C-SPAN's "America by the Numbers" segment features information from the federal statistical system. The program highlights trends and allows the public to call in or email their views.  More information on previous C-SPAN programs is available at <http://www.census.gov/newsroom/cspan/>.
